Safety Pilot Time Building

While buying a block of time and flying off into the sunset solo will definitely fulfill your pilot building flight time, there is another way offered by SunCountry Flight. We offer the option to pair up pilots in the program. Here's how it works. You will be paired up with another time-building pilot for the duration of the "block" of time you purchase. All flights will be operated under VFR. One pilot will be flying under the hood while the other is acting as safety pilot. The advantage of this arrangement is that both pilots can log time as pilot in command, and the flying pilot can even apply portions of the flight towards instrument currency requirements.

Multi-Engine Time - Who Needs It?

Pilots who's ultimate goal is to fly for a living must earn their multi engine time building as a matter of fact. However, the vast majority of private pilots do not have to get the multi engine time building, and most don't. That said, as pilots, we've all heard that earning your multi engine time building will make you a better pilot, and it's true. If you get the chance to earn your multi-engine rating, do it.

Other factors to consider during your multi-engine time building training include whether or not your block rates include fuel, how many hours a day you can fly, how far away from the home base you can take the aircraft, whether overnight trips are allowed, and if aircraft renter's insurance is a requirement.
